FAQ - What information do the support team need?
Help us to help you
When speaking to the 24/7 emergency support team you must provide the operator with as much detail as you can about what has happened, where you are, and your intended travel route. If you have a mobile phone then please ensure that it is switched on so that the emergency assistance teams can reach you.
If you have access to the internet then please use a programme such as Google maps to identify you location as a GPS location will enable the assistance services to find you quickly especially if you are in rural or isolated locations. We strongly suggest that you keep a pencil and a notepad in the car in order to take down these co-ordinates so that you can refer to them when talking to the emergency operator.
In any case, you should have the following information available.
- • the vehicle’s registration number
- • your name, home postcode and contact details
- • your policy number
- • the make, model and colour of the vehicle
- • the location of the vehicle
- • an idea of what the problem is
- • an SOS box number (if this applies)
